Dustin has been formally knighted into the Order of Saint James of Holland, a Catholic order founded in 1290 by Count Floris V and sustained continuously for more than seven centuries.

The knighthood places Dustin within a lineage that spans medieval Europe, the Renaissance, periods of war and political upheaval, and the modern eraโ€”an unbroken tradition shaped by historyโ€™s most turbulent chapters.

A Living Historical Continuum

What distinguishes the Order of Saint James of Holland is not only its age, but its continuity. For more than 735 years, individuals have taken the same vows, stood in the same ceremonial lineage, and committed themselves to principles that predate modern nation-states.

The knighthood is understood not as a conclusion, but as an inheritanceโ€”one that carries both symbolism and obligation. Joining an order with such historical depth emphasizes stewardship over status, continuity over recognition.

From Dustin’s Instagram post about this honor:
“Just got knighted into the Order of Saint James of Holland and honestly still processing it ๐Ÿ—ก๏ธ

This Catholic order has been around for 735 years – founded in 1290 by Count Floris V. Thatโ€™s older than most countries. The ceremony was incredible, knowing Iโ€™m now part of something thatโ€™s survived literally everything history could throw at it.

What hits me most is thinking about all the knights before me who took these same vows. Medieval times, Renaissance, world wars and somehow this tradition kept going. Now Iโ€™m part of that story.

Still doesnโ€™t feel real but feeling incredibly grateful. Sometimes life surprises you in ways you never see coming.”
